I can personally get fixated on what others might think of me… In moments of feeling anxious, having self depreciating thoughts, or feeling anger/confusion about conflict…it helps me to slow down when I ask myself “is that true”. I can have mile a minute thoughts, and so often they are so unkind to myself. By asking myself if a thought is true, asking again, “Do I know it to be true”? I often discover that the story I am creating in my head is own of my own making. From this place I can begin the process of identifying the core feelings I am having and begin my journey up the emotional ladder. Does anyone remember the person who coined these terms?
